I'm gonna be honest...Wordpress would suck without plugins.
And that’s just the truth.
There’s very little you can do with a WordPress site if you have zero plugins.
If you’re looking to do really advanced level stuff on your site, the answer is almost always a plugin.
So I'm going to share a few of my favorites and what I use them for:
Yoast SEO
Hands down the easiest and most efficient way to ensure your site is SEO (search engine optimization) optimized.
Anti-Spam by CleanTalk
I was getting HUNDREDS of spam comments until I downloaded this plugin and I don’t have to do anything. It does all the work for me.
Elementor
I love using Elementor to build out pages easily and be able to see in real time what it’s going to look like.
ElementsKit Lite
I love to use this for advanced features in Elementor but you can also build your own custom headers and footers.
Smash Balloon Instagram Feed
The Instagram feed at the bottom of my site is because of this plugin.
One Click Accessibility
The little person icon in the top right hand corner of my site is what this plugin does. You can adjust the brightness, make the fonts bigger, have it read the text aloud to you, etc. This is to help people with disabilities still be able to utilize my site.
GDPR Cookie Consent
This makes a little pop up come up at the bottom of my site notifying visitors that my site uses cookies.
Broken Link Checker
This is really helpful in letting me know when I have a link that isn’t working so I can fix it.
Duplicate Page
This plugin makes it as easy as clicking one button to completely copy a page. I use this all the time when adding new pages so I don’t have to start from scratch.
Easy Digital Downloads
This is the free tool I use to sell my presets on my site.
Insert Headers and Footers
For things like your email subscription service or Google Analytics or Facebook pixel, you have to enter code into the header of your site. This makes it super simple and you don’t need to know any high level coding to use it.
Jetpack
Jetpack has tons of features. One of them is analytics for your site. But my favorite is that it alerts you if your site goes offline for any reason and also lets you know when it’s back up and running.
Use Any Font
I love this plugin when I have a client who wants to use a specific font that WordPress doesn’t have. You just upload the font and assign it to a heading or paragraph text.
Do you use any of these already? Which one are you going to give a try now? Let me know in the comments!
